He is trained and experienced gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary-pancreatic and liver transplant surgeon adept in management of complex surgical cases. He has acquired extensive experience through training and working with doyens in this field for over a decade. He has more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and am frequently invited to speak national and international conferences related to my discipline. His focus is to make clinical care patient-centric and affordable without compromising on its quality so that it can benefit many more people. He believes this can only be achieved through a team of like minded force-multipliers who share a vision. He is particularly interested in ABO incompatible liver transplants, management of cholangiocarcinoma and liver metastasis.
He completed his MBBS and MS, General Surgery between 1992-2001. He began as a Clinical Fellow of Hepatobiliary Surgery where he evaluated, assessed and managed patients in the peri-transplant period. He Performed major steps of living donor hepatectomy, recipient hepatectomy and deceased donor organ retrieval under supervision. He was actively involved in clinical research activities. He completed his DNB Surgical Gastroenterology, from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, in 2005.
He was working as a Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist & Hepatobiliary, transplantation and living donor liver transplantation surgeon at Apollo Victor Hospital, Manipal Hospital Goa, SMRC Goa for 4 years. He Performed complex operations related to the gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary systems hitherto unknown to the state of Goa. Educated and counselled patients regarding liver transplantation.
For 2 years between 2006-2008 he was at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital at Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist, Hepatobiliary & Liver Transplant Surgeon.
He worked as a Visiting Consultant Liver Surgery & Transplantation at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre Mumbai for more than a year followed by few months at Jupiter Lifeline Hospital as Consultant, Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary & Liver Transplant Surgery and then Moved to New Delhi.
He was a Senior Consultant and Member of the surgical team of Medanta Institute of Liver Transplantation & Regenerative Medicine, Hepatobiliary & Liver Transplant Surgeon at Medanta The Medicity Hospital, from Sep 2010 – Aug 2012,
For 7 months he was also working as an Associate Director & Centre Head ( Medanta-Jupiter Liver Program, Mumbai)
He worked as a Senior Consultant at Pushpavati Singhania Institute for Liver Disease , at Sheikh Sarai, New Delhi at 2013.
He then moved to LH Hiranandani Hospital, Powai. Mumbai as a Senior Consultant Surgeon, at Suasth Institute of Liver surgery & Transplantation.
He then worked as a Chief Hepatobiliary & Liver Transplant Surgeon , Senior Consultant Surgical Gastroenterology from Feb 2014 – Feb 2015 at Continental Hospitals, IT & Financial District, Gachibowli-Hyderabad.
In 2018 he got his Fellowship of American College of Surgeons (FACS)Gastrointestinal, Colorectal & HPB Surgery
He has an extensive experience working as an Independent Hepatobiliary & Liver Transplant Surgeon performing complex surgeries for gastrointestinal, liver, bile duct and pancreatic diseases. He was Leading a team performing liver transplants from deceased and living donors in Mumbai area for 8 years .
He has now moved to Goa and is associated with Healthway as a superspecialist as Hepatobiliary & Liver Transplant Surgeon.
