Academics at Healthway

Training Goa's next generation of clinicians.

Healthway Hospitals runs a full academic wing alongside patient care — postgraduate residency, fellowship and life-support certification programmes taught by our own consultants, on our own wards.

4 Active programmes
30+ Years teaching
75+ Faculty consultants

Learning that happens on real wards, not just in classrooms.

Our academic programmes sit inside a working super-speciality hospital, so every trainee learns against real patient volumes, real emergencies, and real outcomes — supervised by the same consultants who run our departments day to day.

From three-year postgraduate residency to weekend life-support certification, each course is built to a recognised national curriculum and assessed against national accreditation standards.

Our Story

Four pillars, one plan.

Healthway was never meant to be only a hospital. From the outset it was built on four pillars — clinical excellence, social commitment, academic upgradation, and research advancement — taken up deliberately, one at a time.

2014

A group of practitioners, a bigger idea

Healthway Hospitals began in 2014, when a group of practitioners set out to build something more than a hospital — an institution that would serve Goa through patient care, education and research together.

2016

Commissioned, and proving the first two pillars

Commissioned in 2016, the hospital spent its early years proving out clinical excellence and social commitment — building high-quality clinical services alongside health camps, screening programmes and outreach drives across the state.

2022

The harder, slower work

Once that clinical and social foundation was solid, Healthway turned to the remaining two pillars. It pursued accreditation from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), building a structured academic ecosystem from the ground up rather than adding courses on top of an existing hospital — with research infrastructure, faculty engagement and resident participation following alongside it.

Today

Where that patience has led

  • Healthway now holds NBEMS accreditation to run DNB programmes across all three major core specialties — General Medicine, Paediatrics and Anaesthesia.
  • The hospital is recognised by the American College of Surgeons as a Centre for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training for over 10 years.
  • Healthway remains the only centre in Goa to possess NNF Academic Accreditation, enabling structured neonatal training programmes for both doctors and nurses.
To provide cutting-edge, comprehensive, affordable and humane multispeciality healthcare for all, in preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative medicine, concurrently creating an academic and research institute enabling healthcare providers to excel in their fields with passion and integrity.

Supporting Infrastructure

Research & the library

Academic upgradation and research advancement are two of Healthway's founding pillars — this is the infrastructure built underneath the DNB, fellowship and certification programmes above.

Research

Every DNB and fellowship trainee at Healthway completes a supervised research project as part of their curriculum, guided by consultant faculty and reviewed through regular case discussion and mortality & morbidity audits. Beyond trainee projects, the hospital also runs independent research studies and clinical trials led by its consultant faculty.

  • Consultant-mentored resident research projects
  • Independent faculty-led research studies
  • Clinical trials conducted at Healthway
  • Weekly case discussions & clinical audits
  • Support for national conference presentations, including APICON
