      Dr. Durga Lawande completed her MD in Pulmonology from Goa Medical College in 1982. She began her career as a Consultant Pulmonologist in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Goa Medical College in 1985. Since 1990, she has served as a postgraduate guide, mentoring numerous students in the field.
      In 2016, Dr. Lawande was appointed as Professor and Head of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Goa Medical College, further enhancing her leadership role in medical education. She has also been associated with Healthway Hospital as a Visiting Consultant since 2021, where she continues to share her extensive expertise and dedication to patient care.
      1. Tuberculosis, Br Asthma, HIV, COPD and ILD
      1. Involved in teaching and training of Under graduates and postgraduates of Goa Medical College for more than 30 years.
      2. Won the Prestigious Fundacao Oriente Scholarship to visit Lisbon for 3 months and study allergy and immunology at Pullide Valente hospital, Lisbon ,Portugal
      3. Got WHO Fellowship in 1996 under which she visited University of Illinois Chicago and East Tennessee State University for 3 months in Tuberculosis Control.
      4. Internal and External examiner for various Universities of India.
      5. Master trainer of trainers in HIV and TB and has been a training faculty for MOs and resident doctors in Goa medical College.
      6. Published Scientific papers in National and International journals.
      7. Presented Scientific papers in various conferences.
      8. Chaired Scientific sessions in various conferences
      9. Conducted many medical camps, TB detection camps under various NGO activities.
      10. Member of medical board of studies of Goa University from 2016
      11. Appointed as Chairman of state task force in RNTCP in 2015
