Dr. Nikhil Bhoomkar has extensive experience in pain management, treating conditions such as sciatica, neurological disorders, cancer-related pain, arthritis, and chronic back pain.
After completing his post-graduation, he served in the fields of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at Goa Medical College (GMC). He subsequently worked as a Senior Registrar in Critical Care Medicine at KEM Hospital, Pune.
Between 2008 and 2009, Dr. Bhoomkar completed a Fellowship in Cardiac and Neuro-Anaesthesia and Critical Care at the prestigious SCTIMST, Trivandrum, where he underwent advanced training across multiple anaesthesia subspecialties, including open cardiothoracic, vascular thoracic, and neurosurgical anaesthesia.
His procedural expertise includes pulmonary artery flotation catheter insertion, ultrasound-guided central venous access (CVP lines), arterial cannulation, epidural catheter placement, and double-lumen tube insertion. He has also gained advanced proficiency in perioperative transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and fibreoptic bronchoscopy.
Following this, Dr. Bhoomkar joined NIMHANS, Bengaluru, as a Senior Resident in Neuro-Critical Care Medicine, further strengthening his expertise in managing complex neurological cases.
Currently, Dr. Bhoomkar is associated with Healthway Hospital, Wisdom Hospital, and Manipal Hospital as a Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Pain Physician, providing comprehensive perioperative care and specialized pain management.
