Rheumatology is a multifaceted discipline of medicine and the clinical management of the patients involves various specialities.

At Healthway Hospital we offer surgical, medical and palliative approach in management of rheumatological conditions. The Department handles rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, SLE (Lupus), vasculitis etc.

Surgical management includes total knee replacements, total hip replacements, arthroscopic debridements etc. In addition to this, administration of various intra-articular injections, sinovial fluid aspiration, tissue biopsies, carpal tunnel injections etc are also used.

The management also involves continous palliative physiotherapy which provides great benefits to the patients

Orthopedic trauma care covers the spectrum of simple isolated fractures to severe life threatening accidents with multiple broken bones. Specialists at Healthway have unique expertise and training in dealing with critical injuries of these kind.

Shoulder surgery is a means of treating injured shoulders. Many surgeries have been developed to repair the muscles, connective tissue, or damaged joints that can arise from traumatic or overuse injuries to the shoulder..

Healthway Hospital Spine Surgery Services is a surgical speciality which is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of spine function by managing various spinal disorders. It includes both non-operative and complex operative treatment modalities..

Sports injuries are those that are sustained during exercise or while indulging in athletic activities. Healthway helps you to get to the depth of these and hence mitigate them.

In 1994 Dr Mahendra completed Orthopedic Residency at GMC along with his DNB In Orthopedics. He then completed his Spine fellowship in Mumbai and Shoulder & Elbow Joint replacement fellowship in Bangkok in 2006.He did an Advanced trauma Course following which he got trained internationally for Foot & ankle joint training in UK and Advanced Revision Knee arthroplasty at Zimmer Institute China in 2012
Performed more than 600 Hip & Knee Arthroplasty surgeries since last 10 years. He has patients from Europe, USA and Middle East for Trauma and Joint Replacement.
He has his private practice in Goa and is also a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Healthway Hospitals Goa & Manipal Hospital Goa.

Dr Vishal Dubhashi completed his MBBS and MS in Orthopedics from GMC. He was associated with the Orthopedics Department, GMC till 2003. Following this he joined as a Consultant at various hospitals, and started his private practice in Goa Currently he is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Healthway Hospitals Goa and also has his private practice.

Dr Sambprassad Nadkarni completed MS in Orthopedics , GMC after completing his MBBS. He then pursued DNB, Orthopedics from New Delhi. From 1996-1997 he worked as a Registrar at Mumbai Rajawadi Hospital. He later returned to Goa and joined the Orthopedics Department, GMC. He was then working as Consultant and Associate Professor at GMC until 2017. He joined Healthway Hospitals Goa as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and also started his private practice.

Dr Chandra Bhushan Prasad completed his MBBS from Goa Medical College in 2011 . He then went ahed for his MD Medicine again ta GMC which he completed in 2016.  He then Moved to  PGIMER , Chandigarh which is one of India’s top college, for has an exptensive experience at from 2020 – February 2023), where he did is DM in clinical Immunology and Rheumatology. He worked over 150 patients annually and gained extensive clinical knowledge in the field of Rheumatology. He has handled rheumatology case in adults as well as children along with an expertise in lab procedures  such as methods of ANA, ANCA, antigen/antibody by ELISA. In addition he even handled  other cases such as  Lip, nerve and muscle biopsies; Intra articular injections – small and large peripheral and axial joints (hip, shoulder and sacroiliac); and nerve blocks for severe Raynaud’s, carpel tunnel syndrome. He then returned to Goa and joined Healthway hospital as  consultant Rheumatologist and Immunologist.
